Send iPhone Messages From Your PC

Great news for PC owners – but only if you have a DELL PC. For years, those in Apple’s walled garden have been able to use their Macs to send and receive texts, make phone calls and more, all through their connected iPhones. Thanks to the newly released Dell Mobile Connect, iPhone owners can do this on their PCs too.

Available from the App Store, Dell Mobile Connect runs on iPhones with iOS 10 and above. You also need a Dell XPS, Inspiron, G-Series, and Vostro PC purchased in January 2018 or later.

With your phone connected to your desktop or notebook PC with the app, you can write and answer text messages using your computer, make and receive phone calls using your PC’s speakers and microphone, have your iPhone’s messages appear on your computer screen and access your iPhone’s Contacts app on your PC too.

Judging by the mixed reviews it’s receiving on the App Store, Dell Mobile Connect has room for improvement, and it’s not yet supported on business or commercial PCs. Even so, if you have a computer that meets the system requirements, it’s definitely an app worth watching.

Ian has worked on computer and video games magazines since the legendary Crash and Zzap! 64 in the early Nineties, so he’s seen many changes over the years (including an expanding waistline and receding hairline). A lifelong Mac user, he bought his first Mac in the year 2000. It’s a testament to the resilience of the Mac that his mother is still using that computer to this very day.
