The date most iPhone fans wait all year for is here, with the release of the latest version of iOS, followed closely by the launch of the latest, hotly anticipated iPhone devices tomorrow.
First announced back in June at WWDC, iOS 13 introduces a load of great new features, changes and improvements. One of the biggest changes in iOS 13 is that it is now only for iPhones, with the iPad getting its own operating system, iPadOS, on the 30th September.
The update to iOS 13 will begin becoming available from around 10am in the US, which is about 6pm in the UK and 7pm in mainland Europe. As with all recent versions of iOS, it will be available for many of the iPhone range, but not all of them.
If you have an Apple device older than the iPhone 6s, you unfortunately won’t be able to update, and will miss out on the new features iOS 13 introduces. Below is a full list of the devices that can receive the update:
- iPhone 6s
- iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone 11
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
iOS 13 will be pre-installed on the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and the 11 Pro Max when they launch tomorrow.
