1MORE Bluetooth Headphones – Review

Wireless Bluetooth headphones and earbuds have come a long way over the last few years, but can a wire-free audio experience truly satisfy? Let’s take a look...

  • Price: £119.99, $199.99, 129.99 €
  • Manufacturer: 1MORE, 1more.com
  • Compatibility: Bluetooth tablets, smartphones and computers

The amount of technology that’s gone into these Triple Driver Bluetooth earbuds is amazing. Each bud boasts two balanced armatures and a separate dynamic driver, giving a broad sound spectrum seldom heard on in-ear devices. LDAC transmission technology allows a transmission rate of 990 kbps, three times the data speed of ordinary Bluetooth and the HFP, A2DP, AVRCP protocols are catered for, bringing lossless sounds to your earbuds.

Ultimately it’s not the techno-babble that matters. The 1MORE Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones has an impressive list of specs, but do they deliver when they’re on your head? Thankfully, the answer is a resounding ‘yes’.

The first thing that strikes you as you slip on the soft rubber collar and pair the device with your iPhone is how comfortable they are. The soft, flexible silicone neckband takes the weight (all 42.5g of it) without pulling on the earbuds as you move around. As all the Bluetooth gubbins, built-in mic for phone calls and inline controls for volume and track skipping, are in the neckband the earbuds never feel like they’re about to fall out under their own weight and if the default tips aren’t to your liking, there’s five sizes of silicone and three pairs of foam tips to choose from instead.

The second thing you notice is the sound. It’s excellent. To deliver such a broad audio spectrum with earbuds, especially at this price, is very rare. The dynamic driver gives a solid, intense bass that really brings rock and rap to life, while the dual balanced armatures handle the mid-tones and high-end sounds extremely well. Vocals are reproduced with crystal clarity, and every instrument is clearly defined and the audio is well balanced, with no single element overpowering the rest of the sound, however, if you want to tweak it to your own tastes, there’s an equaliser with some useful presets in the free iPhone app.

As well as being useful for making and receiving phone calls from your headset, the built-in mic features Environmental Noise Cancellation (ENC) technology, which filters out background noise to preserve sound clarity. This is great if you’re at a busy train station, for example and means whatever racket is going on around you, the music still sounds as good as ever. Charge time is an hour for seven hours of talk time or audio play, but if you’re in a rush, a speedy ten-minute charge is good for three hours. A USB-C cable and a useful carry bag to keep everything in are also provided.

1MORE’s Triple Driver BT In-Ear Headphones are excellent all-round. They give an amazing breadth and clarity with all types of music, and they bring a new dimension to talk radio and movies. If you’re looking for a new set of Bluetooth earbuds, we definitely recommend them.
